Want to be an on-air radio news reporter?
We produce the NPR-style news feature program City Stories that has aired since 2008 on KSDS, Jazz 88.3, City College's 22,000-watt public radio station. This semester, we'll meet Mondays from 4:55 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. in C-128, plus 3 hours of lab time per week. RTVC 141 offers you real-world radio experience on an actual broadcast radio station. (KSDS was nominated by the National Association of Broadcasters for a coveted Marconi Award as "Large Market Station of the Year.") Your completed City Stories program segments will make impressive airchecks for radio career job applications. Previously aired editions of City Stories can be heard at www.sdcitystories.org. Recommended prerequisites are RTVC 105: Media Performance and RTVC 140: Radio And TV News Writing with a C or better, but if you have enthusiasm and equivalent experience, there's a good chance you can join us. RTVC 141 is limited to 20 reporters and is filling up fast. |
